1907 Changes

Sat Jun 22, 2019 1:58 pm

Hi all,

AIRAC 1907 was effective 6/20/19.

Airspace Changes

  • KLAX
    • Taxiway N north of runway 25R was renamed to B8. Taxiway H8 was renamed to H7. I suppose I should update the labels in the sector file.
    • The DOWNE4 arrival is no more. If you've never heard of it, that's because it's a non-RNAV, late-night, opposite-direction arrival no one uses. Rest in pieces.
    • The SHIVE1 arrival is also deleted.
    • The ZUUMA3 (east ops and late-night from the north) is upnumbered to fix typographical errors and update a lost comms procedure.
  • KLAS
    • I'm not sure when it happened, but the GRNPA2 arrival is officially gone.
  • KSNA
    • The PLZZA2 departure is upnumbered. It is now authorized for turboprops in addition to piston aircraft, except on the LHS transition.
    • The STAYY2 departure is upnumbered to add a note that aircraft may be vectored to DANAH or STAYY.
  • KRIV
    • The HITOP1 arrival is no more.
  • KWHP
    • The RNAV (GPS)-C approach is deleted and replaced with the RNAV (GPS) RWY 12
    • The VOR-A approach is no longer authorized at night, the minimums have been adjusted, and the missed approach altitude is now 3900, up from 3700.
  • KSDM
  • KBWC

Facility File Updates

  • Sector file updated to AIRAC 1907.
  • KLAX taxiway names updated in sector and LAX ASDE-X files.
  • Fixed a misspelling in the SCT and ZLA POF files.
  • Made some changes to the general aliases. Rather than detail all the changes, I've revamped the alias guide in the STM and added a new page for them, which you can find here: https://laartcc.org/stm/general-aliases. I plan to make some adjustments to the aliases, one section at a time, to make them a bit easier to use and remember.

As always, feedback and suggestions are welcome.

All the charts for PSP still show an ATIS, do you know what the change was?

Whoops, I misread it. All they did was change the frequency on the KUDD1 departure chart.

I wonder if that's actually a typo from them. PSP may have updated it's ATIS frequency and whoever was supposed to do it for the UDD chart might have done an oopsie.

I emailed the FAA about this. Apparently it's a new guideline for how they chart things. If an ATIS frequency is included on a procedure for an airport other than the one the ATIS belong to, it is listed as an ASOS or AWOS as applicable.

Out of curiosity, what address did you send the email to?

GRNPA has been dead for several months, interestingly it ended north of airport (at LEMNZ which still exists) rather than at PRINO

Reason for this is that it was created as the only RNAV arrival into the 19s, so if coming from the northeast and you were RNAV-equipped, you had to be vectored off the arrival at KSINO to be sent to the 25s at the time.
