Re: Hey fellow aviation buffs and friends

Congrats! Internet service in Germany has caught up pretty quickly, and most of the airbases you would likely be assigned to are in larger cities so it shouldn't be too tough. 10 years ago, I was able to get setup with an ISDN line without any issues and would regularly fly into the night with the f...

Re: Reality XP Garmin

I had both for FS9, and they were about as real as I could find without spending $8000 and cutting a hole in my monitor. ;)
I'm sure it's just as good for XP

Re: Making the jump

No worries, Keith. If anyone understands what it's like to get busy, it's me. X-Plane has been an interesting transition so far. I think it will be 50/50 for me, but I am trying hard to tweak it so as to get more enjoyment out of it. I spent about 20+ years getting used to FS, so I don't expect it t...

Re: Making the jump

TJ and I discussed some things along the lines of what you both said. I'm having the same exact frustrations, but I stand resilient as to not give up (especially because it's money invested!) I don't expect it to be FS, but I do want to get comfortable with the menu and view system. I went through s...

Re: Making the jump

Ok. I'm here. Excited, but slightly
overwhelmed with regards to the best place to get started. Is there a "roadmap/guide" to getting things setup and updated? Obviously, the forums and you guys, but I'm thinking the more "Capt. Obvious" type stuff people tend to overlook.
Thanks in advance, gang!

Work and Play collide!

This might be a stretch, but I am curious if any of you have a personal connection with a Helo that might be avail for a film shoot about 120 miles or so outside of LA. Please PM me if so. Thanks guys.

Re: Making the jump

I've done the demo, and it works great, but I'll hardly ever fly in Innsbruck, Austria, so I was looking for a broader opinion. :) 30-40 fps is golden. I run and avg of 25-30 in FSX with most options near the max. (I favor smoothness over raw fps calcs, and I am buttery smooth) so I'm sure it will b...

Making the jump

Since XP9 is on sale everywhere, I think I'm gonna make the jump for my GA flying.

Just curious how it will shape up in my system. I figure someone in here has to be running something in this range-

AMD Phenom II X4 920 @2.8 ghz
4 GB PC8500 DD2 1066mhz
ATI Raedon HD4860 1GB
Win Vista 32b
