ZOTSOT Checklist- SCT_APP (Socal Approach Combined) OTS

This is the ZOTSOT checklist suggestions for SCT_APP (SOCAL Combined) sessions. These sessions and the resulting OTS are some of the most difficult on the network. For pilots though, there are MANY possibilities here. The airspace controlled goes north to KVNY, south to KSAN and east to KPSP. If you...

Re: ZOTSOT Checklist- LAS_APP (L30)

Also very good ideas. Unfortunately LAS retired the Stratosphere visual awhile ago and most pilots now do not really know what it is - but right traffic is still good. Thank you!

ZOTSOT Checklist- LAS_APP (L30)

This is the ZOTSOT checklist suggestions for Las Vegas Approach (L30) sessions. Remember that there are endless possibilities so don't restrict yourself to just the following. Always ask an instructor/mentor what they would like to see first, because they know what the student needs. If you have any...

KB is ZLA's Newest Center Controller

Kyle took all that VATSIM threw at him.......and shipped it off to Oakland. Kyle spun planes in circles and sent them down the chute on the arrivals, all with out skipping a beat (in a puddle of sweat). After the smack down was finished, Kyle arose through the haze and fog - the victor - a ZLA Cente...

SR Stepping Down

It deeply saddens me to announce that Sam Carman is stepping down as a ZLA Mentor. Sam has dedicated years of service to the ZLAARTCC through various positions and has provided countless hours of training. Work flying for the airlines has unfortunately taken all of Sam Carmen's VATSIM free time. Ple...

As the traffic grew, Chris came out ahead, like a shinning beacon of hope for pilots (to include the special ones). Please join me in congratulatin...
