I'm sorry but that makes no sense whatsoever.
Deep breath. Read about TEC routes in more detail...they make lots, and lots and lots of sense. :)

Re: To "Climb via" or not?

Brad, That's a good summary. One small note, you said climb via "can be issued by clearance delivery," when in fact, it _must_ be issued by clearance delivery if the SID has altitude restrictions. If no top altitude is published, then the mandatory phraseology is "climb via SID, except maintain [ini...

I couldn't remember the callsign, but I remembered the "thank you" even from all those years ago.

Re: Reminds me of the LGA expressway visual

Yes, there's lots of discussion in the YT comment section about it. The two risks of landing short of a displaced threshold are obstacle avoidance and the weight-bearing ability of the runway. I don't think the pilot was at risk of either of these two in this case, so perhaps he made a conscious dec...

Re: Battle of the Bravos: SoCal Departure

Very nice. That does make me miss working a busy LAX final! How come the LOOPs were going so far west before being turn back towards LAX? I normally turn 'em as soon as I have a sense that they'll make LAX at or above 10k, and as long as they won't conflict with other deps. Really nice job on the ca...

Re: Little Advice?

Option #1 or #2 should be considered. Option #3 is not a good one, imho. Those are pilot mills that are generally not focused on quality. They're focused on churning out pilots that can meet the PTS, which is really just a starting point. If you're going to buy a trainer, I'd buy one which is mechan...

Re: I am here. The Party can get started.

Your system is configured to hide file extensions. It is a text document, though, because of your own description of the 'type' column. You need to configure Explorer to show file extensions, then you can meaningfully rename it. Good luck!

brief pilot cert outage

One of the domains involved in the chain of operations that makes up the Pilot Cert site expired and has caused the site to become unreachable at pilotcerts.laartcc.org. Will has updated the domain to bypass that link in the chain, and it should be reachable again shortly. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Something like this, assuming the music input doesn't get muted when pilots are talking:
