Shawn! You broke her!

Haha, looks like you touched down too hard and bunched up the landing gear, a $1000 or so repair was needed on 208 when I took a look at her. Oh well, those pesky random repairs always get ya.

I like how you landed with only 12 gallons of fuel on board, like to cut it close, huh Maverick?

Okay guys,
It's way past my bedtime here,

Can someone walk me through how to join FSeconomy and the socal group? I realize I should RTFM, but if one of you could help me out at a mutually agreeable time, that'd be wonderful.

That was a looooong fight from Hawaii. I discovered that the default C208 can fly higher and I can get the fuel burns around 30gph which is an improvement over the Feelthere version. Not as fun to fly but it made the hop.

FSE should have some kind of option for flights like that. How do you think C172's get to Hawaii? They certainly don't build them there.

Additional ferry fuel bladders are installed so they can get them across the pond.

I was getting pretty nervous Bill. The low fuel lights came on when I had about 15gal side left and I had nothing but dark ocean in front of me. I kept it up at FL270 until about 20 NM from KSBA and pulled the power back and pretty much glided it in.

I agree, ferry tanks would be cool. There should be a charge to install them and another charge to get rid of them, and having them ought to mean no carrying passengers or cargo.

You can ask the admins to "ship" it for you. $5/kg + $3/NM:

Hey all,

Ferry tanks have been brought up a million times in the FSE forums, and from what I can remember, they're a no-go. The board has 'founder's syndrome.' You should of seen the fight they put up for multiple engined aircraft, let alone jets.

Aircraft are system generated on the aircraft purchase list from time to time, and they randomly spawn in places that they could not normally get to by flying.

FSE will only ship aircraft rated at 'light,' or 1500Kg or less. The costs of shipping though certainly add up.

Lastly, ML, let me know if you still have questions regarding joining FSE/SoCal Airways.

By the way guys, I'm setting up our own forum (It's a proboards account, it's free, yes, but a very functional system with lots personalization options.) Among many things, there will be a "How To" section, an FAQ if you will, that will explain many things, including how to join.

Lastly, a tangent to my own tangent, if anyone with a fast computer/good scenery addons/addon aircraft/artistic sense/a sixth toe, wants to contribute to the forum, I will need custom screen shots for the header of the forum. My rig churns out screenies that look like they're from FS98. So if you're interested in contributing, send me a PM.

I'm done for now,
Bill

Lovin the Caravan. Just hauled 12 pax out of KSBA and did a 3 leg trip (KSBA-L67-KONT-KCNO).

Just over an hour, 51 gal of Jet-A, approx 140 NM generated a cool $10,000.

I have just shy of $40,000 now, I plan on sinking it all back into the group shortly. I might just do it at the end of every week.

Hmmmmm where to now?

KNUC used to have a nightly DC3 run to pick up the part timers until the 90's I don't know the arrangement these days however.

Bill, is it possible to remove the distance bonus off the aircraft? I just flew the Citation to KLGB and got a negative distance bonus for flying it away from home, which in turn costs the group money.

Yep, sorry about that. I'll take it off, even though if you were to put your profits back into the company, it would cancel out.

Bill

It's getting to the point where it's functional, I still have a good deal of work to get everything up and running.
